Final Fantasy XV custom Xbox One controller revealed

With so many games getting custom bundles, controllers and other options it seems almost a lock that such a high profile game like Final Fantasy XV will have some sort of deal. Well, thanks to an online retailer we now have our first glimpse at the custom Xbox One controller for FFXV.
Online retailer Play Asia has revealed an image with pre-order pending for a custom Xbox One Final Fantasy XV themed controller. It's quite beautiful with custom, silver thumbsticks and triggers as well as sporting two FFXV images both bottom and top center near the guide button. As it's only listed for an Asian release so far, we've reached out to Square Enix in order to get some more information and will let you know what we find out.
So far, we're still set for an release date announcement this coming March and hopefully another demo as well prior to launch. In the meantime, take a gander at the controller below. Ok, more than a gander. It's ok to stare.

PEGI rating board lists Final Fantasy 6 for PC

Final Fantasy VI
The European ratings board, PEGI, has listed a PC edition of Final Fantasy 6, the best 2D Final Fantasy game, and arguably the best of the whole lot. PEGI reckons the game is suitable for persons aged 12 or over.

A release date of November 26 is listed, but the game isn't out yet. If it is indeed coming to PC, will it be a straightforward port of the original SNES version, or a port of the GBA / Android version that brightened the colours and bleached the personality out of the original sprites?
The PEGI listing cites "non realistic looking violence towards human characters". While not human, this video of Sabin suplexing the ghost train seems applicable. It's moments like this that separate 6 from the rest. Also the member of your party who is a king who can wield a chainsaw.

Final Fantasy XV Gets Limited Edition Xbox One Controller in Asia

Shiny!
When Final Fantasy XV launches, it'll be accompanied by a pretty sweet limited edition Xbox One controller in Asian territories, retailer Play Asia has confirmed.

The game is expected to launch next year for Xbox One and while there's no clarification on any bundles or limited edition collections that feature the game and the controller, the controller will be available to purchase separately. It surely won't be everyone's cup of tea, but we reckon it looks pretty slick.
As it stands, there's no confirmation over whether or not the modified pad will be available in other territories. We'll keep our ear to the ground for any limit breaking news on that.
Update: Well, things may not be all that they seem. Xbox Singapore have posted the image above, stating "Too bad this Concept Controller is only a Fantasy..."
That is either a really, really poorly worded piece of marketing, or they're confirming that the controller doesn't exist and is just a nice idea. You decide!

Final Fantasy XV currently playable from start to finish

Development on Final Fantasy XV has finished pre-beta, programmer Kitade said on the official Final Fantasy XV forums. This means two things: 1) the game is playable from start to finish, and 2) the first half of the game is finished with the quality of a final product.

“We’re at the point where we can play the game in its entirety from start to finish,” Kitade said. “From this, everyone on the development team can get an overall view on the game.”

In other words, Kitade adds, they’re polishing every element, making adjustments to gameplay, and preparing to complete the game and all of its contents with the highest possible standard.
Kitade continued, “The first half of the game is finished with the quality of a final product, and you get the sense you’re playing it in its final form.”

Now the team understands the amount of manpower necessary to reach the desired level of quality in terms of gameplay and visuals, as well as the pacing of the game via outside testing.
Final Fantasy XV is due out for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2016. An official release date will be announced at an event in March 2016.

FINAL FANTASY 6 PC RATED BY PEGI

Final Fantasy VI may be coming to PC after a new rating has appeared on the Pan European Game Information (PEGI) page.
The listing shows the game is suitable for ages 12 and up and, while it shows November 26, 2015 as a release date, that could merely be the date the game was rated by PEGI.
Recently, Square Enix stated that it wished to continue remaking its existing IPs. Earlier this year, Square Enix announced plans to remake Final Fantasy VII for PlayStation 4 and series director Tetsuya Nomura did express an interest in remaking Final Fantasy V and VI.
It is not clear if this new rating signifies a re-release or a remake of Final Fantasy VI, which was voted number one in IGN’s top 100 RPGs of all time.
Final Fantasy VI originally released in Japan on April 2, 1994 on Super Famicom and was renamed Final Fantasy III for its North American release on the Super Nintendo on October 11, 1994. Buy FFXIV gil,ff14 gil http://www.mmoxe.com/FFXIV/ 8% discount code-HIMMO Since then, the classic RPG featuring iconic characters Terra, Sabin, and one of gaming’s craziest, most diabolical villains Kefka, has been re-released on multiple platforms, most recently on iOS devices.

Chinese website, VGTime, had a chance to interview Hajime Tabata who is the director for Final Fantasy XV. It sounds like a new demo might be in the works, or some sort of update to Episode Duscae will be added in the near future.
The translation from the article says: “About the demo version, Tabata confirmed they will launch a new demo, on the PS4 and Xbox One platforms. “Final Fantasy 15” had been included with “Final Fantasy Type-0 HD” launching a demo version, and the subsequent optimization of the demo version 2.0
A clearer translation was given by a Twitter user by the name of ZhugeEX. He posted: “Hajime Tabata said in Shanghai today that a new demo is being produced, there is possible plan for free dlc & there is no plan for FF15-2.”
It sounds like it could just be Episode Duscae 3.0 as opposed to an all-new demo for Final Fantasy XV. Square Enix might be making an announcement in the new year about it. It’s also nice they are thinking of adding free DLC for the game. Fans have been waiting ten years for this game to come out…

We always knew that he was going to be in the game, but this tease from NicoNico gives us a better look at the hero. Expect a full reveal trailer as early as tomorrow.

'Final Fantasy XV' news: Game to feature gambit-style AI

Square-Enix
The Malboro, one of the many monsters that litter the "Final Fantasy XV" world.
"Final Fantasy XV" only allows players to control the main character, Noctis, without the option to switch to his party members. This makes the game function similar to "Kingdom Hearts." However, in a recent forum post the developers did confirm that there will be a way for players to indirectly influence how the AI allies behave in combat.
As reported by RPGFan, fans asked if there would be a system akin to the "Gambit" mechanic seen in "Final Fantasy XII." This mechanic allowed players to create a list of actions that the AI-controlled party members would do as well as edit the priority for each action.
This would allow an AI-controlled party member to automatically use a potion if their hit points drop to a certain percentage, attack an enemy with a specific type of magic if the enemy is resistant to other forms of magic, or buff the rest of the party if the buff spells such as Haste have ended.

In response, AI programmer and lead game designer Prasertvithyakarn Prasert stated, "We have created a system for FFXV where the player can decide the battle style that they and their comrades use, although this takes a different form to the gambits in FFXII. This will be revealed at some point in the future so look out for further information."
Fans also asked if it would be possible to ride monsters into battle, a mechanic that was reportedly seen in the 2013 E3 trailer. Lead game designer and combat planner Yuji Kenichiro did not give a direct answer but instead explained there is a mechanic that allows players to target specific body parts and that this will come into play in combat.
It is heavily speculated that Kenichiro's statements hint at a mechanic where players must first disable monsters before riding them or at least manipulating them to become temporary allies in battle.
"Final Fantasy XV" is scheduled to release in 2016

Lightning appears in yet another Final Fantasy game

Love her or hate her, Lightning has become quite the star of the Final Fantasy realm. She appears in every promotion, is plastered all over merchandise, and even stars in each spin-off game that Square Enix cranks out.
Hey, Square Enix! If you love her so much, why don’t you marry her?! Oh wait… you probably already did.

Lightning further cements my main concern with Dissidia Final Fantasy, and that’s that almost every single character fits the same mold: a sword-swinging warrior with a few distant magic attacks. Most of the hero trailers, like with Cloud, Squall, Vaan, Titus and Zidane, all have the same issue. Where is the diversity in movesets? Will most of this roster play the same?
Bartz is a master of everything, thank goodness, and both Terra and Shantotto are range-based mages, but a large majority of these characters haven’t really shown how they set themselves apart yet.
Just two days to go until Dissidia Final Fantasy launches in Japanese arcades. We’ll find out then how these Final Fantasy heroes carve a name for themselves. I’m still sticking with Bartz as my main by the way, unless Ramza is really something special.

Final Fantasy Record Keeper Update: Black Friday Mythril Gift, Draw Deal, And Challenge Event

Final Fantasy Record Keeper’ s got a few special treats on deck for the Thanksgiving weekend, including a special Black Friday deal. Here’s the skinny:
On Friday Nov. 27, Final Fantasy Record Keeper players will have the opportunity to purchase the Lucky Relic Draw at half-price. Normally, the Rare Relic Draw is 5 mythril or 100 gems for one draw, or 50 mythril/3000 gems for 11 draws. But Black Friday’s Lucky Relic Draw will be half that price in mythril and gems. (In case you forgot, mythril’s what you get as rewards all over the place, while gem is the currency you pay for.)

Additionally, the 5 star drops in this special Lucky Relic Draw are all Unique Soul Break equipment from earlier events. If you’ve been lagging on your Final Fantasy Record Keeper challenge events and have missed out on unique weapons for some of Final Fantasy ’s most iconic characters, the Black Friday Lucky Relic Draw will afford you a unique opportunity to catch up.
And, even better, just for logging in on Black Friday you’ll get a one-time gift of 25 mythril. So the Lucky Relic Draw will be just the thing for taking advantage of the Black Friday Lucky Relic Draw and hopefully filling in the gaps in your Unique Soul Break equipment armory.
Finally, Nov. 25 is also the start date for the “A Place to Call Home” event, which allows players to recruit both Zidane and Amarant from Final Fantasy IX. As is standard, you’ll also be able to unlock their Memory Crystals, which will enable you to break their level cap.
Previous Final Fantasy Record Keeper events have included Final Fantasy VI ’s Locke Cole , Final Fantasy XIII ’s Vanille , Final Fantasy VIII ’s Rinoa and Final Fantasy V ’s Lena Tycoon .
Final Fantasy Record Keeper is the product of a joint effort between mobile game producer DeNA and bezippered prettyboy fodder maker Square Enix. The free-to-playFinal Fantasy Record Keeper game has been updated weekly with new content since it first arrived on Western markets.
Final Fantasy Record Keeper is available for both iPhone and Android smartphones for free.

'Final Fantasy XV' Pre-Beta Ready But Content Is Not, Fans Have To Wait Longer

The wait for "Final Fantasy XV" just got longer as it is revealed that the pre-beta version of the game is ready but the content is not. Even then, fans of the "Final Fantasy" franchise are excited because this is better than no news.

Seeing the excitement of the fans, game director Hajime Tabata said that while the pre-beta version of the game is finished, the content is not yet done.
According to PlayStation Lifestyle, the community manager for Square Enix, Dan Seto, clarified and said in a forum, "Whoa, hang on guys! A pre-beta is a preliminary step to a beta version so FFXV has not gone into full beta just yet. FFXV's development is going along well but not that well."

Tabata said there is much to improve before the game is ready. He also added that they might add Moogles later on due to heavy fan request.
A report from GamingBolt said that during the Tokyo Game Show last September, Square-Enix had said that they would be moving on to serious aspects of the game and Moogles did not have a place in this serious world.
However, according to Cinema Blend, they seemed to have changed their minds when 78 percent of the players they asked wanted Moogles to be included. The rest definitely wanted the Moogles to go.
The delay speaks of the game developers' bid to give players a better gameplay experience. Tabata spoke to Eurogamer, and said, "We've been setting up possibilities and contingencies plans for having tales and experiences in that world. Before that, in the same way they gave me a chance to make the game, it'd be good to have younger development talent opportunities to take on those projects."
According to GameRant, the characters of "Final Fantasy XV" can move freely because of a "high action system." There is also a more advanced party battle system which helps players strategically switch between characters while they're doing battle. Players can also expect to have more thrilling battles with lots of realism.
The other game that fans of this franchise are excited about is the remake of "Final Fantasy 7." The release dates of both "Final Fantasy XV" and the "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" have not been announced.

'Final Fantasy' Characters Join 'Puzzle And Dragons' In November

“Puzzles and Dragons” is no stranger to crossovers, with characters from “Angry Birds,” “Clash of Clans” and DC Comics making various appearances in the game. The next crossover might be the biggest one however, as various characters from “Final Fantasy” are set to appear in the popular match-3 roleplaying game (RPG).
This is something that developer Gung-Ho has been working on, with collaboration from “Final Fantasy” publisher Square Enix. The crossover begins next week on Nov. 2 and ends on Nov. 15, so fans have two weeks to get their favorite “Final Fantasy” characters.
Numerous characters from the series will be available in the match-3 RPG, including fan favorites like Cloud Strife, Squall Leonheart, Tidus and much more. They will only be available during the event, so fans better save up their magic stones.
Interestingly enough, Touch Arcade has also confirmed a number of characters fans might not be familiar with. These include Ace from “Final Fantasy Type 0 HD,” Aemo from the Japan-only “Final Fantasy Dimensions: Crystals of Time and Space” and Wol from the Japan-only “Final Fantasy: Moebius.”

It’s possible that Square Enix is using the mobile event to promote these lesser known characters and games. Whether this leads to Western releases for mobile games like “Final Fantasy: Moebius” remains to be seen.
Pocket Gamer stated that the heroes from “Final Fantasy” would be available through a special egg machine. If players want to encounter the villains of “Final Fantasy,” than they can explore the game’s new “Netherworld” dungeon, which will be available during the event.
The Netherworld dungeon will have five floors. Each floor will have seven battles each and range from intermediate to mythical difficulty. Fans of the game better train their characters for the dungeon, especially if they want to beat characters like Sephiroth, Gilgamesh and Chaos.
“Puzzles and Dragons” is currently available in the iTunes App Store, Google Play and the Amazon App Store, so fans have a week to get ready for the big “Final Fantasy” event. The game itself is a free download, with optional paid purchases for those who want the game’s best rewards right away.

Final Fantasy VII's Cloud is coming to Super Smash Bros.

Cloud Strife, Buster Sword and all, will join the game as a downloadable playable character along with a FFVII-themed Midgar stage. Final Fantasy 15 And Kingdom Hearts 3 Still Ranking In Top 10 of Famitsu’s Most Wanted List

kingdom hearts 3

While it doesn’t appear that Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy 15 are going to be available anytime soon there is still quite a bit of interest in both among Famitsu users. The website put out yet another listing of the most anticipated games that are coming down the pike and both games are actually moving up a bit on the list since the last time it was published. This time the votes were cast between October 29 through November 4 and Final Fantasy 15 has actually registered as the second most wanted game on any platform.

The only game that actually beat out the latest Final Fantasy game was Monster Hunter X for the 3DS. That shouldn’t come as even a little bit of a surprise, considering the games in this series have always been incredibly popular among Famitsu users. While Kingdom Hearts 3 wasn’t exactly as popular among the users as Final Fantasy 15, it did make the top 10 and actually moved up one spot from eighth to seventh.
Obviously, the games that are most anticipated among Famitsu users are not the same as ones that are the most anticipated around the world. This couldn’t be underlined better than the fact that Fallout 4, which most people would agree was one of the most anticipated games of the year, is ranked just 11th on this particular list. It seems as if there is going to be a bit more of a wait for Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy 15 so there’s going to be even more anticipation.

What PlayStation 2 game do you want to play on PlayStation 4?

Well then, it looks like the PlayStation 4 can and will be playing PlayStation 2 games at some point in the future. It already supports a selection of Star Wars games that, I’m sorry to say, aren’t exactly the highlight of the PlayStation 2’s massive library.
That doesn’t mean there isn’t a wealth of PlayStation 2 games that can still be enjoyed today! The best selling console of all time hit the record books for a reason, and that’s because it was able to please a large variety of gamers with a healthy offering of genres.

My guess is that Sony is going to be suffering through the same bureaucratic nightmare thatMicrosoft has with making Xbox 360 games backwards compatible on the Xbox One. The trademark of Twisted Metal: Black for the PlayStation 4 also leads me to believe that PS2 Classics on the PlayStation 3 won’t be simply transferable to a new console, much like theVirtual Console from the Wii to the Wii U. These are similarly going to trickle out over a long period of time, and who knows what the price tag will be?
But let’s think happy thoughts! What is the one game you want to play the most on the PlayStation 4 with its enhanced emulation? Let us know in the comments section below!
For me, it’s an easy choice. I have three PlayStation 2 games I’ve been meaning to go back and play, but their publishers have already given me reasons not to worry about two of them. Dark Cloud 2′s trademark was leaked alongside Twisted Metal: Black’s, and I don’t think we’ll have to wait too long to see that. And Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King will be released for the Nintendo 3DS, so that’s probably going to be the one I play since I can take it on the train.
That just leaves us with my one and final choice: Final Fantasy XII. It’s kind of simple as to why. This is the only Final Fantasy game that is not available through digital channels, and it’s the only Final Fantasy game that is stuck on its original console. To play it, you still need a disc and a working PlayStation 2, which is hard to find given exactly how fragile the console is.
Or, you can drop $500 on a backwards compatible 60GB PlayStation 3… no thanks.
Final Fantasy XII is one of the only Final Fantasy games I haven’t beaten, and the PlayStation 2’s weak sauce hardware is also notorious for limiting what its resources can put out. Those who have unofficially emulated it know that this game looks great in HD, and hopefully Sony’s official emulation can do it similar justice.
The only thing holding it back, really, is Square Enix’s tendency to ignore cheap classic re-releases, especially with Final Fantasy. Why charge $9.99 for a PS2 Classic when you can charge $39.99 for an HD remaster? Rumors have been circulating about an HD Final Fantasy XII for a while, but nothing has been confirmed. Either way, I think we’ll finally be seeing playable on modern consoles within the next year or two.
Just an added thought as well, but a Final Fantasy XII HD Remaster would probably also be playable on the PS Vita, which I think I would prefer.
